If you have been reading my blog for a while now, you will know that I am a lover of vintage wares. While living in the USA, I collected vintage pieces from flea markets, auctions and antique stores. But I was limited in what I could buy, as I always knew I would have to ship them home to Aus. Well no more! Thanks to a handy invention (called Dad’s Landcruiser), I am a woman on a mission!
Last Sunday, Matt and I drove to Bowral to attend an antique auction. I. Was. In. Heaven.
I went a little nuts to be honest, and bought some fabulous items. But unfortunately I don’t have the space for all of them. So, I thought I would share them with you in the hope that they will find the perfect home.
I have started an online vintage shop which you can now browse though. Since I am buying items from markets, I can hopefully keep the prices below retail. At the moment, I will just be selling wares to Sydney-siders. You can pick them up from Balmain or Dural… whichever is more convenient. Or for a fee, I can deliver them to you. Check out my shop HERE.
Here are a few of my fabulous finds:
Gorgeous industrial filing drawers, originally used as library card filing drawers.
A sweet, galvanized, red, watering can in its original condition.
This gorgeous, vintage, cane washing basket is beautifully woven with strong, thick strands and sturdy handles.
Me. Not for sale. But bidding up a storm!
Original cast iron meat grinders, made in England, now can be used as handy bookends.
This vintage tin bin is painted a fabulous bright red and is perfect for holding umbrellas or sports gear.
An authentic cow-hide rug, looks gorgeous on floorboards.
These sweet, hand-made, wooden skipping ropes are in original condition and can still be used.
I will be updating the shop periodically, so keep checking back in to see all my new treasures!
