Weeeeeee! Kick4Life‘s No.7 Restaurant is nearly ready to open thank to the fabulous display wall! When I was asked to design it last year, Kick4life suggested we display locally-made artwork as well as cultural items that are unique to Lesotho. So I got to thinking, and remembered this fabulous display wall from one of my favourite Brooklyn cafes – Toby’s Estate.
I send a rough sketch to the builders at Kick4life and within a short amount of time, they had designed their own version and built it! Volunteers at Kick4life pitched in to get it made and it just looks gorgeous! Check it out!
Loving the bright colours inset behind the shelving. It will really make the objects on the shelves pop.
They’ve even started filling the shelves with cultural items and decorative artworks! Some of these items they will sell for local artists and further contribute to the local economy.
How pretty does it look peaking through the doors of the restaurant. The exposed light-bulb lighting design really highlights the display wall.
Doesn’t it look amazing!?! I’m so excited to see everyone’s hard work pay off, and I can’t wait to see all the good that comes from this venture.
