I love writing and I love blogging. One of the best things about blogging is the freedom I have in writing about things I love, and things I think others will love too.
Since becoming a mum earlier this year, many things have surprised me. One of the big ones has been how ingrained a baby’s personality is from birth. Our little 7 month old Jack is already showing really specific personality traits and interests.
One of the more obvious ones is how much he LOVES music. He can be screaming his little lungs out, but as soon as I play some music, he instantly stops crying and starts bouncing along with a silly grin on his face. It’s ridiculous and hilarious at the same time.
However when it comes to what music we play, Matt and I have some serious Spotify battles. Being the conscientious mother I downloaded a whole lotta kids albums. But after listening to a few of the songs Matt refuses to play them to Jack. And rightly so, they are rather lame and annoying. So we have taken to just playing our music and hoping Jack doesn’t mind too much. (Matt’s 80’s Power Ballad Playlist gets a lot of airtime).
HOWEVER, this week I was able to delete all the bad kids albums, and download one stellar album!

NAY NAY LET’S PLAY is the latest album from ABC Kids, and quite frankly, it rocks. Nay Nay is known to audiences as the voice of Hootable in the wildly popular Google and Hoot and performed with the Wiggles for years too…
… and she just HAPPENS to be one of my dearest friends.

Nay and I have been friends since we met playing Marta and Brigitta respectively, in a production of the Sound of Music when we were kids. She is not only a wildly talented song-writer and singer, she is also a wonderful friend and a mum to two gorgeous kidicans – Gideon (5) and Tallow (3).
The best thing about Nay is her sense of humour and her sense of fun! I laugh more with this chick than I do with anyone! As a result, her album is full of hilarious songs and lyrics. “My Brother Ate My Lego” is a personal favourite.
Here is a sweet little video showing behind the scenes of the album, you get a taste of a few of the songs…
Since it is produced by ABC kids, the musicians are all incredible and the production quality is amazing! But the real test for us came when I played it for Matt. We listened to the first few tracks, before Matt states: “Okay. Nay’s album is the only kids album we can listen to alright?” Yup. You heard it here first people. It’s THAT good.
Oh yeah, and Jack likes it too – in fact, he is completely mesmerized by it. “Louie the Dog” seems to be his favourite so far.
Nay has been kind enough to give me 3 albums to GIVEAWAY! So if you would like one, or if you know someone who’s kids would love one, simply tag yourself or your friend under the post on Facebook. I’ll draw three names at random and announce the winners on Facebook.

If you’d like to download the album now, head straight to iTunes, ABC Stores or ABC Online.
A massive congratulations to my dear friend Nay, this album is fantastic!
