This is a selfish post. I wrote it for myself. But if you happen to be in need of some organization and craft storage for your bits and bobs, I’m happy to be of service!
If you asked me where I keep my wrapping paper, ribbons, sticky-tape, thank-you cards, scissors, paintbrushes, pens and stapler, this would be my response: Oh, I keep that under the bed, in a shoebox, in a drawer in my bedroom, in another drawer in my bedroom, in the kitchen, in another shoebox and in the coffee table drawer. My craft and wrapping supplies are a MESS!
So, I hit Pinterest and found 10 relatively easy and clever craft storage ideas for you… and me!
1. Spice Rack Up-Cycle
Such a clever use of a spice rack! Perfect for storing all those little decorative craft items and buttons.
2. Wrapping Paper Hamper
This is a cool idea for storing long rolls of wrapping paper. Though it may take a bit of work attaching the clear plastic windows to the outside of the hamper. I do like that I could move it into the tv room and watch LOVE ACTUALLY while wrapping my Christmas presents!
3. Milk Carton Pencil Holders
Super easy AND super cheap! A great way of keeping colouring pencils easily accessible for kids, and makes for easy pack-up.
4. Ribbon Basket
Keep your eyes peeled for one of these little beauties! Makes cutting ribbon and finding the end of the roll a breeze. (I happen to know that Howard’s Storage World sell them).
5. Salt and Pepper Glitter Shakers
Don’t throw out your salt and pepper shakers, they are the perfect storage containers for glitter! Plus they look damn cute, I’d totally put them on a shelf to show off my resourcefulness.
6. Wrapping Station Stool
Honestly, I don’t know how I feel about this one. Is this taking up-cycling to a ridiculous level… or is it awesome? I love the idea of having a wrapping “station” that can be moved from room to room, and this one fits the bill. But it looks a little ridiculous no?
7. Storage Wall Hanging
Warning: this should only be attempted by those who are nifty with a sewing machine. Might be time to call my mother…
8. Cupboard Storage Rack
Racks like these can be found at Howards Storage World and Ikea. The best part is, all your junk can be hidden out of sight from those pesky “I was just in the neighbourhood and thought I’d drop in” visitors.
9. Build-In Craft Cupboard
If you have the luxury of space and a free cupboard, this would be a dream! I love the idea of installing a pegboard to hang buckets and racks from… painting it a bright colour would be neat too.
10. Mason Jars
Simple yet practical. A pretty and organized way to store bibs and bobs – (where did that saying come from?) If you have some spare blackboard paint lying around, using it to coat the lids is a cute way to label your jars.
Throw out those shoe boxes friends, I am!
