Fact: I want a shed. Not just a normal shed. A pretty shed.
True Story: I have been living in New York now for 3 years, and every time I get a little homesick I ring my Dad for a chat. If I happen to mention that my husband is also feeling homesick, this is his response:
” Yeah I’m not surprised. He needs a shed. Every man needs a shed. You can’t have a shed in New York”.
Helpful. Thanks Dad. The feminist in me usually arcs up over it and insists that I want a shed more than the husband. I want a shed! Though I’m sure the shed I picture isn’t exactly the same as the one my Dad pictures.
So, without further ado, here are 6 CUTE, SWEET, GIRLY, PRETTY SHEDS!! (And some helpful tips on how to design your shed).
One of the easiest ways to create your ultimate shed, is so buy a ready-made one and then dress it up! Paint it with the colours you love, cut out extra windows if you want more light, and plant some colourful flowers around the outside. Pretty shed alert!
If you’re not after an enclosed shed, a potting bench built atop a couple of pallets is easy and can look oh so sweet! Particularly if you show off all your pretty flower pots and hanging lanterns.
This cute little guy is perfect for a small backyard! Usually we try to hide the shed under trees or around the side of the house, but why not make it a feature by painting it a bright colour! It would be easy to lock this particular shed door too, allowing you to lock up those expensive tools.
If you don’t have much outdoor space, but have some spare indoor space. Never fear! Why not create a shed-like space inside your home? The laundry would be the ultimate place. And again, there is no reason why it has to be ugly! Inside sheds make it easier to use electric tools too, if you have an outdoor shed, it might be worth installing a power outlet.
A garage is another handy place to store all those tools and electrics. Make use of the wall space in your garage by installing a pegboard like the one in the photo. You can hang anything on them! If you have a spare corner in your garage, a large bookshelf is a handy place to store baskets with odds and ends too.
Now this is my ultimate shed! Imagine all the DIY adventures I could have in that little beauty.
Who says sheds are for boys only, I’m taking back the shed!
