DIY Party Favours

In the past few years, it has become popular to give party guests a little pressie to take home with them. A “favour” is how they are better known. (Apparently the free alcohol, food and entertainment isn’t quite cutting it!)

Luckily for me I love a DIY project, so to me, favours = NEW PROJECT! I wrote a little about making a memo board for my friend Susie’s baby shower here last week, and now I’ll share with you how I made the little favours!

Our friend Susie is English, so we went with a British High Tea themed shower. I found these Royal Baby Cupcake Toppers on Etsy. A page of 12 toppers costs $4.50 and the designer sent me the PDF file so I was able to print off as many as I liked. Etsy is great for digitial files, as you can buy them from any country in the world.

Cut Out Circles

I bought a pack of 20 favour boxes from a craft store nearby for $5.99

It took a bit of fiddling to work out how to put them together, but once I figured out I zipped through them!

Boxes

It would be easier to use double-sided tape, but I didn’t have any. So I just did the ‘make a loop’ trick with regular tape and attached the backside of the topper to the lid.

I then put 5 English Breakfast teabags in each favour box.

And finally, I tied a red ribbon around each box to finish it off!

Final Favours

Whenever a guest came to say good-bye, it was lovely to give them their little box… it really is a lovely way to finish off a party.

I will write a blog later in the week about all the lovely decorations and food we served on the day!
