In August 2012, my sister Melanie and I set out to start a home decor and renovation blog as a way to share our home design adventures with others. As many of you know, this blog was called Chic To Shore – a name that came about due to my love of all things shabby-chic and Melanie’s love of beach-side living! We spent four months running Chic To Shore and loved discovering beautiful ideas to share with our followers.
In the process of running our site however, we thought how wonderful it would be to create a place where home-lovers could have a voice. A place where they could not only gain inspiration for their home, but also receive advice, learn about new products and contribute their own stories and ideas.
There are so many wonderful bloggers who are already sharing their stories of building, renovation and design and we will endeavor to bring the best of these stories (so you don’t have to spend hours trawling the internet trying to find them)!
The beginning of 2013 has seen us re-brand and re-launch our new site, complete with it’s new name – Darling Street. A favourite among Sydney-siders, Darling Street in Balmain is lined with beautiful home-wares stores and cafes, making it the perfect place for friends to catch up and be inspired by their beautiful surroundings – much like our site!
Whilst Melanie takes some time off to chase after her 3 gorgeous kids, I will be steering the ship and asking for contributions from you – our readers. If you want to share your before and after pictures, an article about your favourite furniture items, your renovation stories or just a photo of something you love in your home, please don’t be shy – send them to us at [email protected]
