When you are designing your bathroom, choosing the vanity is one of the most important decisions. This is because the vanity tends to be the main feature in the bathroom. With this in mind, there are 3 different vanity options to consider…
- A Ready-to-Install vanity, available at bathroom fit-out stores.
- A wooden sideboard re-modeled as a vanity.
- A custom designed vanity to fit your exact dimensions.
The Ready-to-Install Vanity
For out latest renovation, we purchased a Ready-to-Install vanity from Reece Bathrooms. We were able to select the colour, the size and the style. We went with a wall hung vanity as we liked the clean lines and its elevation from the floor. This makes it easier to clean under as there are no legs in the way. We have found the large drawers on the right hand side really handy (it is a lot easier to find things in drawers than in cupboards).
The Sideboard Vanity
I was recently at a friend’s house and couldn’t resist taking a photo of her vanity. (I did ask first!) I love this shabby-chic, beach-house look. She bought the sideboard from Rust in Avalon – they carry some beautiful “well worn” pieces and are opening an online store shortly. Starbord Plumbing installed the basin and plumbing, they operate on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and can be contacted at [email protected]
Custom Designed Vanity
To make the best use of the space in your bathroom, you can always have your vanity custom made. This way the vanity fits perfectly in your bathroom and you can maximise the bench and storage space. This custom designed vanity is part of a modern beach house in Coolum, Queensland, with the interior design by Zoe from Ocean Island Living.
